The League of Women Voters will be hosting a virtual candidate forum with me and my opponent, Chris Heagarty on Thursday, August 20th at 3pm! We will do it via Zoom and a recording will be available on Youtube afterwards.

This campaign has started off with a bang! I have been so energized and excited about the support I am receiving so far! Wake County parents are frustrated and ready for common sense leadership and a solution-seeking mindset. They are channeling that frustration into positive efforts for change. I am so excited to be a part of this journey with you all. Together, we will navigate the tough waters ahead.
This next school year is going to be one of the most challenging years in recent history. Distance learning has been all over the place for our students. Some were not able to participate in it at all. They have possibly been regressing in their learning since MARCH and will have a very tough adjustment in August. Others have taken the opportunity to excel in their independent interests and explore various educational resources. Others will be somewhere in between. Can you imagine what teachers will be faced with in the classroom, trying to meet all of these individual learning paths where they are all at once? As parents, as teachers, as principals and as school board members we all need to keep the students and their challenges as first priority. How can we support them, motivate them and encourage their forward momentum in their educational pursuits? We must work hard to keep school fun and engaging for them. We must encourage them in their challenges and inspire them for the future. Their futures are BRIGHT! We must believe that and MAKE IT SO with them. So far I have received 5 donations totaling $641.43!!! With my own contribution of $100 that is enough to order my first signs! I can do so much with $741! With more donations, I can do even more! I would like a few t-shirts for door-knockers and some Facebook ads. If you can chip in a little for that, I would be grateful. Or if you're willing to door-knock for me, let me know! And of course, tell everyone you know in my district to vote for me on November 3 - ALLLL the way at the bottom of the ballot. Here is a map of the school districts. I am running for 7. |
